Why CaminhoIT

Personal enough to know you. Structured enough to be reliable.

Most businesses have been let down by one of two things: a provider too small to be dependable, or one too large to care. We have built CaminhoIT to avoid both.

  • A named team
  • Security included
  • Everything visible
  • Personal, not fragilea team, not a single person
  • Proactive, not reactivemonitored, patched, planned
  • UK and Portugalboth, properly

Seven reasons

What you would actually be buying

Not a list of technologies — every provider has those. These are the things that change what it is like to be a client.

Personal support without fragility

You get people who know your environment and answer when you call. Behind them sit documentation, monitoring and shared systems, so your service does not depend on one person being available. Relationship at the front; structure behind it.

Proactive rather than reactive

Monitoring, patching, capacity and lifecycle planning are part of the service, not extras. A good month should be one where nothing happened — and that is the result of work, not luck.

Security built in

MFA, endpoint protection, patching, monitoring and backup are part of managed IT rather than a separate product sold after an incident. Security that is optional tends to stay optional.

UK and Portugal understanding

We work in both, in English and Portuguese. For businesses operating across the two — or arriving in Portugal from elsewhere — that removes a whole category of friction.

Transparent service

Tickets, active services, quotes, proposals, invoices and requests in one portal. You should not have to ask your IT provider what you are paying for.

Strategic support

Someone to ask before you commit to something, who will also tell you when the answer is that you do not need it. Advice grounded in running the systems, not in a vendor margin.

Sustainable technology

Helping you extend device life where it makes sense, replace deliberately rather than reactively, and dispose of equipment responsibly. Usually cheaper as well as better.

Documentation you own

How your IT is set up, written down and handed to you. It makes support faster while you are with us, and it is yours if you ever leave.

The gap we sit in

The space between the two.

It is a cliché because it describes a real gap. Businesses of ten to a hundred and fifty people are too big for a provider who is one person, and too small to matter to one built around enterprise accounts. That is the size we are built for.

  • A named contact, with a team behind them who can also help
  • Your environment documented, so support does not start from scratch each time
  • Proper monitoring and management tooling, not someone remembering to check
  • Defined triage and escalation, so urgent things are treated as urgent
  • Pricing agreed in advance, with no surprises on the invoice
  • Advice that occasionally costs us a sale, because that is what makes it worth having

CaminhoIT What we are trying to be

A team small enough that we know your name and your environment, running the systems, documentation and monitoring that mean nothing depends on one person being available.

What it is like

Working with us, from the outside.

  1. You ask

Phone, email or the portal — whichever suits. Your request is logged, prioritised and visible to you from that moment.

  2. Someone who knows you picks it up

Not an engineer reading your environment for the first time, because it is documented and shared.

  3. It gets fixed

And where it is likely to recur, the cause is dealt with rather than the symptom.

  4. We review it

Regular service reviews covering what happened, what it cost you in time, and what should change.

Being straight about it

What we are not.

Knowing where a supplier stops is as useful as knowing what they do. We would rather tell you now than after you have signed something.

Where we stop

  • Not the cheapestMonitoring, patching and testing cost money. A quote without them will be lower.
  • Not an enterprise MSPIf you need a 24/7 staffed security operations centre, that is not us.
  • Not a web or marketing agencyCaminhoDEV handles web and digital. We stay on business IT.
  • Not a consumer repair shopWe work with businesses, not with personal devices and home PCs.
  • Not your legal adviserWe do technical readiness for GDPR and NIS2. The legal opinion is not ours to give.

The measure that matters

Judge us on the quiet months.

The easiest way to look good in IT support is to be dramatic about fixing things. The better outcome is that nothing happened: the failing disk was replaced before it failed, the patch went out before the exploit, the restore was tested in March and never needed. That is harder to notice and it is the whole point.

  • Problems found firstby monitoring, not by your staff
  • Causes fixedso the same ticket stops returning
  • Restores testedbefore anyone needs one

Questions

Fair questions to ask us

What happens if the person who knows us leaves?

This is the right question to ask any IT provider, and it is why documentation matters more than it sounds. Your environment, configuration and history are recorded in shared systems rather than in one person's memory, so another engineer can pick up a ticket with context. You would notice a change in familiarity; you should not notice a change in service.

Are you the cheapest?

No, and you should be careful with quotes that are much lower. The usual difference is what has been left out — monitoring, patching, security tooling, backup testing — which shows up later as hourly work or as an incident. We would rather show you what is included and let you compare properly.

How big is CaminhoIT?

We are deliberately a small, focused team rather than a large call-centre operation, which is what allows us to know clients individually. If team size matters to your procurement process, ask us directly and we will give you an accurate answer rather than a vague impression.

Do you have certifications?

We align our practice to the ISO/IEC 27001 framework and to UK Cyber Essentials principles, and we say exactly that rather than implying certification we do not hold. Where formal certification matters to your procurement, ask us and we will tell you precisely where we stand. Our Trust & Security page sets out the controls we actually operate.

Can we speak to an existing client?

Ask us. Reference conversations depend on our clients agreeing, and on finding one whose situation genuinely resembles yours — a reference from a very different business tells you little. We would rather arrange a relevant one than offer a name for the sake of it.

What if it does not work out?

Then you should be able to leave without it being a hostage situation. Your domains, tenants and licences are registered in your name, your documentation is yours, and we will hand over properly to whoever comes next. We have been on the receiving end of the alternative often enough to know how it feels.

Ready to get started?

Have a conversation and judge for yourself.

No obligation. We will look at what you have, tell you what we would change, and be honest if you do not need us.
