Scoping & budget
What is needed, what already exists and what it will realistically cost, agreed before anything is ordered.
IT project management
A new office, a move, a new site, a system being replaced or a team opening in another country: every IT project comes with several suppliers, a pile of contracts and a date that matters. We plan it, run the suppliers, check the contracts and keep the timescales honest — working alongside you, or simply doing it for you.
Technologies we work with
What we take off your plate
Hand us the whole project, or just the parts you do not have time for. Either way you get one plan, one person to ask, and suppliers chased by us rather than by you.
What is needed, what already exists and what it will realistically cost, agreed before anything is ordered.
Quotes gathered and compared like for like, with a recommendation and the reasons for it.
Minimum terms, notice periods, auto-renewals and install dates read before you sign. Anything legal goes to your adviser.
One plan with every order and date in it, built around the longest lead time rather than the hopeful one.
Business lines checked for the address, ordered early and chased until they are live.
Hardware and licences bought, invoiced correctly for your entity, and configured before delivery.
Cabling, switching, firewall and Wi-Fi, scheduled around the fit-out and tested before people arrive.
Accounts, licences and access ready for the people involved, consistent with how the rest of the business works.
MFA, device protection and backup in place at go-live rather than added later.
Builders, landlords, fit-out contractors and head office kept in step on the IT side.
The switch-over planned for a quiet moment, attended, tested, and with a way back if something misbehaves.
Documented and handed into support, so the project does not end with a list of loose ends.
With you, or for you
Some clients want us to run the whole thing and tell them when it is done. Others have someone in-house who owns the project and wants an experienced pair of hands on the IT side. Either works. What does not change is one plan, one point of contact, and nobody on your side spending their week chasing a telecoms provider.
How we work
What, where, when, budget, and what already exists. We tell you which parts are decided and which are not yet.
Suppliers shortlisted, quotes compared, the critical path found and a plan and budget agreed with you.
Orders placed, contracts checked, suppliers chased and progress reported, with decisions brought to you in good time.
Cutover attended and tested, everything documented, then handed into support.
Where we stop
Projects sit alongside building work, leases, legal agreements, HR and, for some clients, setting up a company in a new country. We coordinate with whoever owns those so the IT lands at the right moment, but we do not give legal, tax or employment advice. Contracts are checked for their practical terms and signed by you; anything legal goes to your adviser.
Why CaminhoIT
We are based in Portugal and work with businesses in the UK as well, so we know the suppliers, the paperwork and the lead times at both ends — and the people who ran your project are the people who support it afterwards.
Questions
As soon as there is a date in mind, and before anything is signed. Business internet lines are usually the longest wait and availability varies between buildings, even on the same street. We have seen go-live dates slip by weeks because connectivity was left until the fit-out. An early check costs nothing and occasionally changes the plan.
Yes, and it is common. Your project manager owns the overall plan; we own the IT strand of it, report into their plan, and bring them the decisions that need making rather than surprises.
No. Contracts are in your name and you sign them. We gather the quotes, compare them, read the terms that matter in practice — minimum term, notice, auto-renewal, install dates — and deal with the supplier until it is delivered. Anything that needs legal judgement goes to your adviser.
Yes. We specify it for the roles, buy it with invoicing that suits your entity, and have devices configured before they arrive, so a new starter signs in and gets on with their day.
Yes — it is one of the projects we run most. We handle the IT and the Portuguese suppliers and paperwork that come with it, in English, and coordinate with your lawyer and accountant, who handle company formation, NIF and tax. We can usually suggest local professionals other clients have used.
Everything is documented and either handed into our managed service or to your own IT team, whichever you prefer. Either way nothing is left half-finished on a supplier's to-do list.

Got a project coming up?
Even before anything is decided, an early look at suppliers, lead times and contracts is worth having. It costs nothing and it occasionally changes the plan.
