Managed IT plans

Three levels of cover. One honest quote.

Managed IT is priced per user or per device, so it scales with your business and can be budgeted. What changes between levels is how much is included before anything becomes extra.

  • Per user or per device
  • No surprise line items
  • Move between levels as you grow
  • Helpdesk in every levelnot billed by the hour
  • Security in every levelnot an optional add-on
  • Monitoring in every level24/7, on every device
  • Portal in every levelincluded, at no extra cost

Why there is no price on this page

Because we would be guessing, and you would be misled.

A per-user figure on a website is close to meaningless until someone has looked at what you actually run. Two businesses of the same size can differ by a factor of two, depending on servers, sites, and how much remedial work is needed before a service can sensibly start. We would rather ask a few questions and give you a real number.

  • How many people, and how many devices each
  • Whether there are servers, and whether they are still supported
  • How many sites, and whether any need on-site attendance
  • What is already licensed — often more than expected
  • What needs fixing before an ongoing service can start
  • What level of cover the business genuinely needs, not the most we can sell

Getting a number

From first call to a proposal.

  1. A conversation

Half an hour on what you run, how many people, and what is going wrong. No charge, no obligation.

  2. A look around

We review devices, accounts, security and backups so the quote is based on reality rather than on assumptions.

  3. A written proposal

Service level, inclusions, exclusions, response targets and cost. Yours to compare against anyone else's.

  4. Your decision

Take it away and think about it. We will answer questions; we will not chase you weekly.

This table shows the shape of our service levels. The exact inclusions, response targets and price for your business are set out in your proposal, because they depend on how many users and devices you have, how many sites, and what condition things are in. We would rather quote properly than publish a figure that would not apply to you.

Comparing quotes

When one quote is much cheaper, find out what is missing.

It is almost always one of the same few things: monitoring, patching, security tooling, backup, or the assumption that anything beyond basic support is billed hourly. None of those is unreasonable to exclude — but you should know it has been excluded, because it will resurface as an invoice or as an incident. Ask every provider to state explicitly what is not included.

  • Ask what is excludedin writing, not in conversation
  • Ask about hourly ratesand when they apply
  • Ask who owns the licencesyou, or them

Questions

Questions about plans and pricing

Why will you not publish prices?

Because the honest number depends on things we cannot know from a web page: how many devices per person, whether there are servers and what state they are in, how many sites need on-site attendance, and how much remedial work is needed before an ongoing service makes sense. A published figure would be either so hedged as to be useless, or wrong for most readers. We will give you a real number after one conversation and a short review.

Is it per user or per device?

Usually per user, because that is what most businesses find easiest to forecast against headcount. Per device suits environments with shared machines — a hotel back office, a workshop, a shop floor — where users outnumber devices or the other way round. We will recommend whichever produces the fairer number for you, and it is not always the one that produces the larger one for us.

Is there a minimum commitment?

There is normally a minimum term, because onboarding a new client involves real work — discovery, monitoring deployment, documentation and clearing the backlog — that is loaded at the start. The term and any minimum monthly value are stated in your proposal before you sign, not introduced afterwards.

What is not included?

Project work is quoted separately: migrations, office moves, network installs, hardware refreshes and major upgrades. So is hardware and software you buy through us. Everything else in your service level is covered by the monthly fee, and anything that would fall outside it is quoted and agreed before we do it — never invoiced afterwards as a surprise.

Can we change level later?

Yes, in either direction. Businesses often start at Essential while things are being stabilised and move up once they see what proactive work actually removes. Occasionally the right move is downward, and we will say so if we think you are paying for cover you do not use.

Do you charge for onboarding?

Sometimes, and it depends on the state of what we are taking on. Discovery, deploying monitoring and documenting the environment are usually absorbed. Substantial remedial work — unsupported servers, devices with no management, backups that have never worked — is quoted separately, because it is a project rather than ongoing support. You will see that figure before you commit to anything.
